  • Movies!

Doug and I watched a couple of new movies last night on Netflix. Hick and Cabin in the Woods. Hick was alright. Not that great. Chloe Grace Moretz is a fantastic actress and she did her part justice, but she's been in better movies. Same with Blake Lively. The story line just wasn't that great. Cabin in the Woods, however, was pretty awesome. It had me hooked from the beginning. It started off so weird, but it kept me pretty intrigued. I think I'm actually going to buy this movie.

We're actually supposed to be going to the movies today to see Iron Man 3, which Doug is pretty stoked about me. Me, not so much. I'm just not big on the superhero movies, but he really likes them. He's been talking about this movie for a while.

One movie I wanted to see while in theaters was Spring Breakers, but never got the chance. It needs to hurry up and come out on DVD so I can see it.

I had to take one of my fancy nose rings out yesterday because of a cold/allergies. The weather keeps going from really hot to really cold and it's really messing with me. I had to put in one that was smaller and had less of a bar on the inside. This weather is ridiculous.

Here's a few more pictures from the concert. :)

  • I suck

I've really neglected this blog here lately. It makes me sad because I have so much I want to write about, I just don't want to take the time to write them. I've been a little lazy with it, not to mention, I've been keeping myself busy, so it's hard to make the time. I need to start, though.

List of "goings-on" as of late:

    1. I was going to the gym quite a bit. I think I pushed myself a bit too hard because now I just don't feel like going, so I'm taking a little break. The plan is to start again next week.

    2. Doug and I went to this massive outdoor concert in Charlotte, NC called the Carolina Rebellion. It was absolutely amazing. We had a great time. He bought a record and got Rise Against to autograph it. I bought a CD and got Hollywood Undead to autograph it. They also hugged me. I was dying with excitement.

    3. Doug's dog, Bubba, was put down last Friday. He was just really old. He had gone blind and couldn't hear well anymore and he had to wear a diaper because he couldn't control his bladder. The poor dog was just old. It was really sad.

    4.  After the concert, Doug realized that we don't get out and do a whole lot so he wants us to do more together. He also wants us to try and not fight as much. That's still a work in progress. We have some trips planned, though, I think it'll be fun.

    5. I've been super lazy here lately. I haven't wanted to do much of anything. I haven't been going to the gym or cleaning or anything. Bleh. I just haven't felt up to much the last couple of weeks.

    6. I have a massive craving for pizza all the time. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I really don't wanna cook. I don't know. I just want pizza, specifically Papa John's, all the time.

    7. I've started reading 50 Shades of Grey. Pretty interested in how this book is going to go. Ha.

    8. I was doing really well with keeping up with schoolwork for a while and then the lazy happened and I've slacked off a bit.

    9. I've done nothing but play The Sims 3 for days now. I'm pretty sure I've gone through about 4 or 5 generations so far if that tells you how much I've been playing.

    10. Grey's Anatomy is pretty much the only show I've been watching on Netflix. I'm on season 4 or 5 now, which is awesome. I'm in love with this show.

    11. New-ish movies that I've seen here lately have been Warm Bodies and House at the End of the Street. Warm Bodies was absolutely hilarious. I loved it and will probably buy it and House at the End of the Street was amazing, as well. Kind of fucked up, which is how I like my thrillers. :P

That's pretty much all, I think. Now, I'll share just a few pictures from the concert. :)

Autographed CD. I'm still pretty stoked about it.

Us at the concert. It was freezing that weekend. It was the first weekend in May and it was 50 degrees and raining. Yeah. That was nice.

This is Sick Puppies. Another band that we got to see while we were there. They were pretty awesome.

  • Tornadoes

Currently there's a tornado warning/watch around where I live right now and if you're kind of like me and don't watch the news or listen to the radio, then you wouldn't know that. About 20 minutes ago, my phone starts freaking out (vibrating ridiculously) to let me know that there's a tornado warning effective until 4:30 pm and a tornado watch effective until 9 pm. On Facebook, I'm friends with this online community of wives from around the base that I live. I decided, just to be nice, to let people know what was going on by posting on the wall. Here's what I said:

"Wanted to let everyone know there was a tornado warning for (blank) and (blank) county effective until about 9 tonight. So, everyone stay safe! :)"

The first comment was from one of the admins of the page.

"It's a tornado watch. A watch means it's POSSIBLE, a warning means you need to seek shelter NOW. As of now, it's a watch until 9 pm. We have been posting updates on our wall."

Maybe it's just me, but I thought her comment came off kind of snarky and condescending, like I didn't really know what I was talking about. Now, I did check to make sure after I got her comment that I had my information correct. Turns out there's a watch until 9 but my phone told me there was a warning until 4:30. So I said:

"My phone has been giving me updates and said there's an actual warning until 4:30. Sorry about that! :)"

Then another lady commented shortly after saying:

"Tornado WATCH!!!!! You will get alerts on your phone for all counties in the area. Watch WRAL.... The bad weather hasn't even hit this area yet."

I'm just a little pissed off because I was just trying to let people know about the bad weather and then I get people being rude to me instead. I don't know why I try to be helpful to strangers.

  • Old Blanket

Doug and I have been kind of talking for a while about getting a new comforter set for our bedroom. As much as I want to get a new comforter, I love my old one. I've had it for years, so it's all broken in and comfortable and it's literally the best blanket in the world. No joke. It's probably ridiculous how much I love this blanket. It's wonderful and I don't want to get rid of it. I know I can't be the only one who feels like this about a blanket. :P
